Best Mini Massage Guns in 2023

Massage guns are sometimes quite large, heavy, and bulky. Mini massage guns are designed to solve exactly this problem. These are much smaller and therefore also lighter. But can the small guns keep up with their big brothers?

I will answer this question in this article. For this purpose, I have bought and tested devices from various manufacturers myself. I present the best mini-massage guns here. In addition, I explain how I proceeded with the test and answer frequently asked questions on the subject.

Disclaimer: All mini massage guns were objectively tested and evaluated. If you buy through a link, I receive a commission, regardless of the product. Accordingly, this plays no role in my rating.

The 5 best Mini Massage Guns in 2023

To be honest, the selection of high-quality mini massage guns is not too big. That’s why I’ve only been able to test ten of them myself. I would like to list the five best massagers here and explain why they convinced me or why not. As soon as I have tested more mini massage guns, I will also list them on this page.

#1 Ekrin Bantam

The Ekrin Bantam is the mini massage gun from Ekrin. Accordingly, it is cheaper than the other devices of the brand. But this is not its only advantage. It is also very compact and lightweight. So you can take it with you everywhere. So nothing can stop you from massaging before and after a run.

Although the massager is very compact, it has quite a lot of power. Specifically, a stall force of up to 35 lbs can be achieved. Also, the impact depth of 10 mm is sufficient to reach the deep tissue. That makes it one of the best mini massage guns.

#2 Flow MINI

The Flow MINI massage gun is described in the customer reviews on Amazon, but also in the product description with many positive features. These also apply to a large extent to the device as my practical test has shown.

The Flow MINI has a powerful motor that can work the muscles intensively. At the same time, however, the gun is quiet, has high-quality workmanship, and is stable. The scope of delivery could also convince me.

In addition to the high price, however, there is one thing that bothered me a lot: Although the name of the Flow MINI suggests that it is a mini massage gun, the device is quite large and heavy. Here, I would have simply expected a more compact massage gun. However, if that doesn’t bother you, the Flow MINI is a very good choice.

#3 Bob And Brad Q2 Mini

The Bob And Brad Q2 Mini is not one of the very best mini massage guns, but it is in a very good range. It combines the typical strengths of a mini massage gun with its typical weaknesses.

On the one hand, the Q2 Mini is very light, fits well in the hand, and is effortless to use. It is also very quiet in operation.

On the other hand, the massage depth is suboptimal. The motor could also be stronger.

Also, the Q2 from Bob And Brad is definitely one of the cheaper mini-massage guns. Accordingly, I can recommend it to anyone who is looking for a very good mini massage gun at a fair price.

#4 RENPHO R3 Mini

The RENPHO R3 Mini is a very good massage gun in the smallest format. It comes with a whole five attachments, making it very versatile. In addition, the gun has five different power levels that cover all important types of massage.

I also particularly liked the volume of the mini massage gun. This turns out very good compared to most other models. In addition, the R3 Mini has both very good handling and top quality.

The weaknesses of the RENPHO R3 Mini, on the other hand, are limited. The price is fair but could be a bit lower. Furthermore, the battery is not replaceable. However, this is the case with most massage guns. I also noticed the smell of the R3 was a bit unpleasant. After some time, however, this has settled.

All in all, I can recommend the RENPHO R3 Mini to anyone who is looking for a good mini massage gun with a few weaknesses at a fair price.

#5 Theragun mini

I was particularly impressed by the high-quality material, the ease of use, and the pleasant feeling during the massage. In addition, it has a unique shape that makes it fit remarkably well in hand. All in all, the Theragun mini is exactly what it should be – a small, handy massage gun with the quality of a classic massage gun from Theragun.

However, these advantages also come at a price: the Theragun mini is by far one of the most expensive mini massage guns. Moreover, only one attachment is included, and additional ones have to be purchased at a high price. Accordingly, this model is only something for you if you have the appropriate budget.

I can especially recommend the massage gun to anyone who already owns a larger model from Theragun and is looking for a device for mobile use. The reason for this is very simple: In this case, the attachments of the larger massage gun can also be used on the mini. This quickly saves several hundred euros.

Specifications

  • Number of Attachments: 1
  • Motor Power: no information
  • Speed Levels: 3
  • RPM: 1,750 to 2,400
  • Noise (from 40 cm Distance): 58.8 to 69 dB
  • Weight (without Attachment): 1.43 lbs (650 g)
  • Battery Capacity: no  information
  • Battery Life: ca. 2 to 3 h
  • Battery changeable: no

Scope of Delivery

  • 1 x Theragun mini
  • 1 x Standard Ball Attachment
  • 1 x Carry Bag
  • 1 x Charger
  • 1 x Manual

Pros of the Theragun mini

  • light and compact
  • space-saving transportable
  • carrying bag included
  • easy to use
  • ergonomic shape
  • very stable material
  • pleasant muscle massage
  • high quality workmanship

Cons of the Theragun mini

  • only one attachment included
  • very loud at highest power
  • high price
  • battery not replaceable

FAQ

In the following sections, you will get answers to the most important questions about the mini massage gun.

What is the Difference between a Mini Massage Gun and a Classic Massage Gun?

As the name suggests, mini massage guns are smaller than classic massage guns. This allows the mini massage guns to be stored even more space-saving and easier to transport. However, this is not the only difference, of course.

The handling is also often better with mini massage guns. On the one hand, this is because the weight is somewhat lower due to the size. Thus, the mini massagers do not become heavy in the hand even during prolonged use. On the other hand, the handles are also often more compact. This makes them easier to grip around.

However, mini massage guns do not have only advantages. Due to their small size, they naturally offer less space for the technology inside. Therefore, the small devices are rather simple and have less power than the large guns. In addition, there is a smaller selection of mini massage guns on the market.

How much does a Mini Massage Gun cost?

This question cannot be answered across the board, as different massage guns cost different amounts. However, to give you an answer, I analyzed the prices of a total of 37 mini-massage guns. I came to the following conclusion:

Most mini massage guns are priced in the lower price segment. Thus, 12 of 37 mini guns cost between $0 and $50, and 14 of the mini massagers cost between $50 and $70. However, mini massage guns are also represented in the higher price ranges. Thus, 9 models cost more than $90. A whole 5 of them even cost more than $110.

For the creation of this chart, a total of 37 different mini massage guns were examined for their price. Based on the average prices from the graph, you can decide for yourself whether a gun is rather a cheaper or more expensive massager.

How much does a Mini Massage Gun weigh?

Mini massage guns weigh much longer than the cheaper models. Normally, the weight is about 1.10 lbs to 1.54 lbs (500 g to 700 g). To give you a better overview of the weight of mini massage guns, I have listed the weights of the models I tested (without attachments).

  • Ekrin Bantam: ~ 1.08 lbs (490 g)
  • Flow MINI: ~ 1.83 lbs (828 g)
  • Bob And Brad Q2 Mini: ~ 0.96 lbs (435 g)
  • RENPHO R3 Mini: ~ 1.53 lbs (694 g)
  • Theragun mini: ~ 1.43 lbs (650 g)

Can Mini Massage Guns match the Power of a Classic Massage Gun?

It all depends on the models to be compared. As a rule, mini-massage guns have low power, but just cheap “normal” massage guns sometimes have even less. For example, the Mebak 5 (classic massage gun) has only a motor with a power of 30 watts. So mini massage guns can even have more power than the classic devices.

In the high-end range, things look different again. Here, various normal guns achieve outputs of over 100 watts (e.g. the Flow PRO with 100 watts) while mini massage guns rarely get above 100 watts (e.g. the RENPHO R3 Mini with up to 120 watts). However, then they are rarely pure mini massagers, but rather hybrids.

Conclusion – Best Mini Massage Guns in 2023

Mini massage guns are small and handy. This has both advantages and disadvantages, as my test has shown. Which advantages and disadvantages there are compared to classic massage guns, I have told you in the article. I also introduced you to the (in my eyes) best mini massage guns on the market. I hope that I could help you with that!
