The Bob And Brad C2 is one of the most popular massage guns on the market. On Amazon alone, the device has more than 6,000 reviews. It is not only the large number of reviews that is striking, but also how positive they are. But is this feedback really justified? I would like to get to the bottom of this question. For this purpose, I bought the massage gun and tested it extensively. I would like to present the results of my test to you in the following review.

Scope of Delivery and Attachments
The C2 is delivered, like all massage guns from Bob And Brad, in a rather plain, black cardboard box. On this is a picture of the massage gun. It is also provided with a handle for carrying.
In the box you will find the following:
- 1 x Bob And Brad C2
- 1 x Ball Attachment
- 1 x Flat Head Attachment
- 1 x Fork Attachment
- 1 x Bullet Attachment
- 1 x Cussion Attachment
- 1 x Carry Bag
- 1 x USB-C Cable
- 1 x Manual
The scope of delivery thus includes everything you would basically want in a massage gun. Personally, I would have liked a matching power supply for the USB-C cable. But that is complaining on a high level. After all, you can also use a power adapter from your mobile phone.
The attachments cover the most important fields of application:
The ball attachment is the standard attachment par excellence. It is suitable for almost all medium and large muscle groups. It seems a bit smaller on the Bob And Brad C2, but that doesn’t detract from its functionality.
The flat head attachment also has a smaller contact surface. It is also suitable for all medium-sized and large muscle areas. Due to its shape, it can be used particularly well on the chest and thighs.
The fork attachment has two rather narrow ends. There is a gap between them. This means that bones, ligaments, and tendons can be easily left out. The fork attachment is, therefore, popular for use along the spine and on the calves.
The bullet attachment also has only a small contact surface. As a result, it concentrates a lot of force on a small point when using the massage gun. Accordingly, it is used for releasing stubborn tensions as well as for the treatment of trigger points.
The air cushion attachment is designed to absorb shock. This reduces the force acting on the muscles. In principle, it thus has the opposite effect to the bullet attachment. The air cushion attachment is mainly used for particularly sensitive areas and musculature near bones.
The quality of the attachments is among the best I have seen so far when testing the many massage guns on the market. There are no unclean edges or the like. Rather, the attachments are really perfectly processed. The feeling on the skin is also 100% right.
The only downside to the C2 attachments from Bob And Brad is that no metal attachments are included. If you want to use oil or gels for massage, you have to buy a suitable massage head or choose another massage gun.
Functionality
The Bob And Brad C2 has a total of five power levels. These are distributed over the following impact frequencies:
- 1st Level: 2,000 rpm
- 2nd Level: 2,300 rpm
- 3rd Level: 2,600 rpm
- 4th Level: 2,900 rpm
- 5th Level: 3,200 rpm
The C2 covers quite a large frequency spectrum. Nevertheless, the shock frequency could be lower on the lower levels. 2,000 strokes per minute feel a bit too intense at the beginning. A relaxing massage is thus rather less possible.
The stroke length could be longer. It is only 8 mm in the massage gun, which is a very low value. Thus, the deep tissue cannot really be reached, contrary to the product description.
Furthermore, the C2 from Bob And Brad has a 10-minute timer. With the help of this, the device switches itself off after 10 minutes at the latest when it is not in use.
Usability and Handling
The Bob And Brad C2 is very easy to use: there is a button on the top of the massage gun. If this is held for a few seconds, the motor in the massager starts. The motor can also be turned off in the same way.
Simply pressing the button while the motor is running switches to the next higher power level until the first level is reached again. The current level is indicated by small LED lights above the button.
The handling of the massage gun is also very good. On the one hand, this is due to the handle of the massage gun. This is shaped so that it is very easy to grip. In addition, it is covered with rubber. This reduces the likelihood that the massager slips out of the hand.
Secondly, the Bob And Brad C2 weighs only 1.51 lbs (685 g) with ball attachment or 1.46 lbs (664 g) without attachment. That’s very light for a massage gun. For a mini massage gun, however, the weight is mediocre at best. Nonetheless, the low weight ensures that holding the C2 in your hand won’t be strenuous, even during a longer massage.
Power Supply
For the power supply, there is a 2,500 mAh battery inside the massage gun. This is quite a decent value. The same applies to the battery runtime, which is several hours. The higher the power level used, the faster the battery drains.
There is a USB-C port on the bottom of the handle for charging. You can plug the included USB-C cable into it and connect it to any power source. However, you need an additional power adapter for charging at a power outlet. A full recharge takes a few hours.
The battery status is indicated by four small LEDs at the bottom of the handle. The more of them light up, the fuller the battery is:
- 75 % to 100 % battery charge: four lamps light up
- 50 % to 75 % battery charge: three lamps light up
- 25 % to 50 % battery charge: two lamps light up
- 10 % to 25 % battery charge: one lamp lights up
- 0 % to 10 % battery charge: one lamp flashing
The only thing that bothered me was that you cannot replace the battery yourself. That means when the battery is defective, you have to replace the entire device.
Noise
I measured the volume of the Bob And Brad C2 from a distance of 40 cm. I obtained the following values:
- 1st Level: ~ 49 dB to 50 dB – similar to a radio or TV
- 2nd Level: ~ 47 dB to 48 dB – similar to birds chirping
- 3rd Level: ~ 48 dB to 49 dB – similar to a radio or TV
- 4th Level: ~ 49 dB to 50 dB – similar to a radio or TV
- 5th Level: ~ 50 dB to 51 dB – similar to a radio or TV
As you can see from the values, all levels are about equally loud. I have never had this with any other massage gun. The reason for this is probably a certain beeping noise, which is especially audible at the lowest levels but decreases at the upper levels.
All in all, the Bob And Brad C2 is nevertheless a very quiet massage gun. Accordingly, nothing stands in the way of using it in quieter environments.
Material and Quality
The material used for the Bob And Brad C2 is mainly plastic. this also makes the massage gun so light. Nevertheless, the massage gun does not make a cheap impression at all. Instead, it looks high-quality and sturdy.
As with the attachments, I cannot say anything negative about the workmanship either. The edges are all cleanly finished, and there are no sharp edges or the like. The gaps also fit.
Unfortunately, however, the smell has struck me negatively. This is very intense as well as chemical and came to me directly when opening the package. Even after a few hours, it was unfortunately still noticeable. The smell often indicates questionable plasticizers in the rubber parts of the massage gun. The entire handle is also covered with the material.
Price Performance
I purchased the Bob And Brad C2 for around €90. It was also available at around this price shortly after during my test (~ $80 to $90). Thus, the device belongs to the rather cheaper mini-massage guns in terms of price, even though it is by no means cheap or particularly inexpensive. Nevertheless, I can tend to recommend the massage gun from the point of view of price and performance. It’s just normal that you have to pay a price for a certain quality.
Tip: The Renpho R3 Mini costs almost exactly the same as the Bob And Brad C2. The two massage guns also appear to be virtually identical in other respects. So it may be worth comparing the prices of the two devices and opting for the cheaper one.
Conclusion – Bob And Brad C2 Review
Summary
The Bob And Brad C2 is a very good, handy, and compact massage gun. It has convinced me with a good scope of delivery and a very low volume. In addition, it is very easy to use, and its lightweight makes even long massages pleasant.
The only real drawback is the chemical smell. However, this fades after some time.
The price could also be a little lower. However, you have to pay a certain amount of money for a certain quality and functionality. Therefore, the price-performance ratio is fair overall. If the wallet is not too tight, the purchase of the Bob And Brad C2 is definitely worth a recommendation.
