Bob And Brad X6 Pro Review

The X6 Pro is the high-end massage gun of the Bob And Brad brand. It is advertised accordingly with many positive features. For example, it is said to be powered by unique technology. Likewise, the massage gun is supposed to have very high power and be able to solve muscle pain with “just one click”.

But do these features correspond to reality? That’s what I want to find out in this review. For this purpose, I bought the Bob And Brad X6 Pro myself. The result of my test is presented below.

Summary

  • The Bob And Brad X6 Pro is a very good entry-level model for athletes and sportsmen.
  • For beginners, however, the massage gun is less suitable due to too high intensity at the lowest level.
  • Also, the volume is quite high at all levels.
  • On the other hand, the amplitude of 11 mm and the up to 3,200 shocks per minute allow you to massage the deep tissue very well.
  • The weight is in the middle range. Thanks to the oval shape of the rubberized handle, handling is still very good.

Scope of Delivery and Attachments

The Bob And Brad X6 Pro is delivered in a black cardboard box. On this are next to a picture of the massage gun, among other things, the most important information about the massager.

The box contains a fairly large carrying bag. In it are the massage gun and all sorts of accessories. In total, the following is thus supplied:

  • 1 x Bob And Brad X6 Pro
  • 1 x Ball Attachment
  • 1 x Metall Flat Head Attachment
  • 1 x Fork Attachment
  • 1 x Bullet Attachment
  • 1 x Cushion Attachment
  • 1 x Carry Bag
  • 1 x Charger
  • 1 x Manual

Thus, everything is included in the scope of delivery that you would want in a massage gun. Accordingly, I have nothing to criticize here and would like to go directly to the attachments:

The ball attachment is a standard attachment. It does not differ from the ball attachment of most other massage guns. It is suitable for massaging most larger muscles.

The flat head attachment made of metal is rather special. Normally, this attachment is made of plastic. Some models also have a metal surface for using gels or oils. With the X6 Pro, however, the attachment is made entirely of metal. This makes it very heavy. In addition, it can be heated or cooled using water to create a special massage experience.

The fork attachment has a wide gap in the middle. This allows tendons, ligaments, and bones to be left out. This makes it particularly suitable for massages along the spine and calf.

The bullet attachment has a small, rather pointed surface. Accordingly, the force of the massage gun is concentrated on a small point. This makes the massage comparatively intense. The attachment is therefore suitable, for example, for the treatment of trigger points and the massage of particularly hardened muscles.

The air cushion attachment has a very large surface area and absorbs shocks. This means that the shocks do not feel as intense. You can therefore use the attachment for more sensitive and bony areas.

All in all, I like the attachments and their quality very much. Especially the workmanship could convince me. I also find it exciting that the metal attachment can be used for warming and cooling massages. This worked well in my test. The only criticism here is that this attachment must be screwed on. This may take some time. Also, you should wear a glove if necessary. Otherwise, the cold or heat on the skin can hurt.

Furthermore, I would have liked a normal flat head attachment. The metal feels during the massage but clearly different than plastic attachments. I find the latter more pleasant.

Functionality

The Bob And Brad X6 Pro has a shock frequency of 2,000 to 3,200 shocks per minute. These are distributed over five performance levels. Unfortunately, I was not able to find out how the distribution actually turns out. However, if it corresponds to those of the Bob And Brad T2, the shock frequencies are distributed as follows:

  • 1st Level: 2,000 rpm
  • 2nd Level: 2,300 rpm
  • 3rd Level: 2,600 rpm
  • 4th Level: 2,900 rpm
  • 5th Level: 3,200 rpm

The impact frequencies are thus in a rather high range. This is exactly the right thing for athletes and physiotherapists. A lot of force is needed here to be able to work the muscles properly.

For private users and hobby athletes, however, the shocks on the lowest are too intense, in my opinion. On the one hand, a relaxing massage is not possible with it. On the other hand, the muscles are often not used to the high intensity of the massage. This results in sore muscles during the first few applications.

The stroke depth of the Bob And Brad X6 Pro is 10.5 mm. This is a decent but not particularly high value. The deep tissue can thus only be reached to a limited extent.

Usability and Handling

The usability X6 Pro from Bob And Brad is the same as many other massage guns: There is only a single button for all the control. When that is held, the massage gun turns on. Simply pressing the button cycles through the five power levels. If you no longer want to use the massager, you hold the button again, and the motor turns off. This is very easy and works very well in practice. It is helpful that the current power level is displayed above the button with the help of small lights.

The handling is also basically good. The handle is mainly responsible for this. On the one hand, it is not round but rather oval. This makes it easier to grip, and it lies very well in hand. On the other hand, the handle is coated with rubber. This means that it doesn’t slip away too easily, even with sweaty hands.

However, I have to criticize the weight of the Bob And Brad X6 Pro in this regard. According to my own measurements, this is 918 g with the ball attachment or 893 g without the attachment. Accordingly, the massager is one of the heaviest in my massage gun test. This has a negative effect on its use. Finally, holding the massage gun thus becomes very strenuous after a while, which I also noticed in my practice test. For this, there are deductions from me.

Power Supply

The battery is located in the handle of the Bob And Brad X6 Pro. This has a capacity of 2,500 mAh. This is an average value. This is also noticeable in the battery runtime, which is also average (about 2 to 3 hours). As always, the higher the power level used, the faster the battery drains.

The current battery charge is indicated by four small lights at the bottom of the handle.

The following applies:

  • 75 % to 100 % battery charge: four lamps light up
  • 50 % to 75 % battery charge: three lamps light up
  • 25 % to 50 % battery charge: two lamps light up
  • 10 % to 25 % battery charge: one lamp lights up
  • 0 % to 10 % battery charge: one lamp flashing

A power adapter is included to charge the massage gun. This can be simply plugged into the bottom of the handle and connected to a power outlet. Fully charging in this way takes only a few hours. Since there is no USB interface, charging via a power bank, laptop or PC is not possible. However, I find this acceptable.

I find it less nice that you can’t have the battery replaced yourself. In practice, this means that if the battery is broken, you have to replace the entire massage gun. During the one-year warranty period, this is also not a problem. After that, however, it is much more expensive to replace the entire massage gun instead of simply buying a new battery.

Noise

I measured the volume of the Bob And Brad X6 Pro at all five levels from a distance of 40 cm. I obtained the following values:

  • 1st Level: ~ 53 dB to 54 dB – similar to a talk
  • 2nd Level: ~ 53 dB to 54 dB – similar to a talk
  • 3rd Level: ~ 53 dB to 54 dB – similar to a talk
  • 4th Level: ~ 54 dB to 55 dB – similar to a loud TV or radio
  • 5th Level: ~ 58 dB to 59 dB – similar to a vacuum cleaner (on low level)

Thus, the massage gun is not particularly loud but still louder than many competitors. This is especially true for the lower levels. I am often used to much lower noise levels here. In addition, a kind of whistling or whistling was noticeable, which only subsided when the impact frequency was increased. This volume level is rather not recommended for a relaxing massage.

Material and Quality

The material of the Bob And Brad X6 Pro is almost exclusively plastic. This is the case with most massage guns. This is not quite as valuable as models made of metal. Nevertheless, the X6 makes a very valuable and stable impression on me.

Workmanship also plays a role here. This is in this device, as in all massage guns from Bob And Brad so far, first class. I could not discover any defects, unclean edges, or the like. The gaps are also very small.

When it comes to the smell, I could not find fault with anything at first. The massage gun smells simply “New”. Up close, however, a slightly chemical smell is noticeable. This mainly affects the handle, which is made of rubber. For this, there is a point deduction from me.

Price Performance

The Bob And Brad X6 Pro cost me around 115 €. At a similar but slightly higher price, the massage gun was also available two weeks later ($139.99). Thus, it is neither one of the higher-priced models nor is it particularly cheap. Since it could otherwise convince me very much and has only a few weaknesses, I rate the price-performance ratio as “Good” to “Very good”.

Conclusion – Bob And Brad X6 Pro Review

Summary

Bob And Brad X6 Pro is the top model of the brand. In addition, the massage gun is quite affordable. In my eyes, this makes it the perfect entry-level model for athletes and sportsmen. For this, the massager brings a lot of power.

However, the X6 Pro is less suitable for use in the private sphere for tension, etc. The massage gun is too loud for this, and the impact frequency at the lowest level is too intense. In addition, you have to consider that the weight of the massage gun is quite high.

If that doesn’t bother you, you get a good massager for a reasonable price here.
