Ekrin 365 Review

The Ekrin 365 is the brand’s “medium” massage gun. It is described as “the perfect choice for at-home treatment that eases discomfort, soothes tightness, and helps you recover faster”. But does it live up to that description? That’s what I want to find out in this review of the Ekrin 365. For this purpose, I bought the massager myself and tested it in depth.

Summary

  • The Ekrin 365 combines a powerful motor (40 lbs stall force) with a wide frequency range from 2,000 to 3,200 strokes per minute. Due to the high number of impacts, it is less suitable for beginners, but all the better for athletes.
  • The massage gun comes with 5 different attachments included. This means that every muscle group can be optimally massaged.
  • The volume of the Ekrin 365 is 52 dB to 60 dB. Accordingly, nothing stands in the way of a relaxing massage, at least on a low setting.
  • Thanks to very low weight and foolproof operation, the massager from Ekrin can be used by anyone without any problems.

Scope of Delivery and Attachments

Like all Ekrin massage guns, the 365 comes in a plain white cardboard box. On this, there is a picture of the massager printed.

In the package, there is a transport bag. In turn, it contains the massage gun and all accessories. In total, the scope of delivery includes the following:

  • 1 x Ekrin 365
  • 1 x Ball Attachment
  • 1 x Flat Head Attachment
  • 1 x Fork Attachment
  • 1 x Cone Attachment
  • 1 x Carry Bag
  • 1 x USB-C Cable
  • 1 x Manual

Thus, the scope of delivery is good, although nothing special. Basically, everything is included that you need to use the massage gun. The only thing missing is a power adapter for charging at a power outlet.

Let’s now take a closer look at the attachments:

The ball attachment is a standard attachment on massage guns. It is very suitable for massaging medium to large muscles. In the Ekrin 365, it is made of silicone, which provides a special massage feeling.

The flat head attachment is also a standard attachment. It is suitable for massaging almost all muscle groups. Here it is kept quite small, so even smaller muscles can be massaged specifically.

The fork attachment has a gap in the middle, similar to a fork. This allows bones, ligaments, and tendons to be omitted during the massage. This is useful, for example, along the spine or calves.

The cone attachment has a pointed end made of silicone. Thus, individual muscles can be massaged very specifically. This works very well in practice. Only the attachment size is a bit strange since such are otherwise much smaller.

All in all, the attachments convince me, especially regarding quality. They are very valuable and stable. They also deliver a pleasant massage feeling. This is mainly due to the silicone surfaces.

The variety of attachments, on the other hand, still has some room for improvement. For example, metal attachments for massaging with oil or gel are missing. A particularly gentle attachment for sensitive areas would also have been desirable.

However, that is complaining on a high level.

Functionality

The Ekrin 365 has four speed levels with the following shock frequencies:

  • 1st Level: 2,000 rpm – Release Tension
  • 2nd Level: 2,400 rpm – Recover + Flexibility
  • 3rd Level: 2,800 rpm – Deep Massage
  • 4th Level: 3,200 rpm – “Wake Up” Muscles

Four levels are a bit low. Many massage guns have five, six, or even more. This is also reflected in the frequency spectrum. Fewer stages mean that the shocks can’t cover a wide range without the differences between the stages becoming too great.

This is also noticeable in the Ekrin 365. The lowest stage already has a frequency of 2,000 rpm. That is comparatively much. I noticed that in my test. Even the first stage feels very intense. The massage gun is, therefore, less suitable for a relaxing massage.

It is not intended for that. Instead, it is supposed to promote muscle regeneration. This requires a certain amount of force. This is especially noticeable when you switch up the levels. At the highest level, the massage feels almost painful.

The amplitude of the Ekrin 365 is 12 mm. This is a good value. Thanks to the high stroke length, even the deep tissue can be reached and massaged.

Usability and Handling

The operation of the Ekrin 365 hardly differs from other massage guns. First, you need to set the switch on the bottom to “On” to turn on the massager. The same switch can be used to turn it off again.

The motor is started by touching the top of the massage gun. This is a special feature of the Ekrin 365, where there is otherwise a button. Touching the surface again switches through the stages of the motor until it is switched off.

It’s easy as pie and quick to learn!

The handling is good. The weight of the Ekrin 365 is 1.74 lbs (790 g) without the attachment or 1.83 lbs (831 g) with the ball attachment. This puts the massage gun in the medium range. It only feels heavy during very long applications.

In addition, the handle is both long and quite narrow. On the one hand, this makes it easy to grip. On the other hand, it also makes it possible to massage rather hard-to-reach areas of the body without much effort.

Power Supply

The Ekrin B365 is powered by a 1,600 mAh lithium-ion battery. This capacity is not particularly high. According to Ekrin, the massage gun should still be able to be used for about five hours at a stretch. My test showed that about four to five hours is more realistic if you also use the upper levels. That is still a very good result!

The current battery status is displayed via four small lights on the top of the massager. The more of these light up, the fuller the battery is still. Specifically, the battery level is displayed as follows:

  • 80 % to 100 % battery charge: four lights
  • 65 % to 80 % battery charge: three lights
  • 40 % to 65 % battery charge: two lights
  • < 40 % battery charge: one light

This is a comparatively accurate display.

Charging the battery is also very quick and easy. Simply plug the included USB-C cable into the bottom of the handle and connect it to a power source.

The only criticism is that the battery is not replaceable. This means: In case of a defect, the entire massage gun has to be replaced!

Noise

I measure the volume of all massage guns from a distance of 40 cm, including the Ekrin 365. I determined the following values:

  • 1st Level: ~ 52 dB to 53 dB – similar to a conversation
  • 2nd Level: ~ 59 dB to 60 dB – similar to a vacuum cleaner
  • 3rd Level: ~ 57 dB to 58 dB – similar to road traffic
  • 4th Level: ~ 59 dB to 60 dB – similar to a vacuum cleaner

The Ekrin 365 is thus not a particularly quiet massage gun, but not the loudest either.

On the first level, the volume is still more than bearable. The other levels, however, are very loud.

Here, too, I had to determine accordingly: The Ekrin 365 is not intended or suitable for a purely relaxing massage.

Material and Quality

The Ekrin 365 was made mostly of plastic. However, this does not detract from the quality. The massage gun, like the attachments, looks very high-quality and sturdy.

Nor can I find fault with the workmanship. I could not detect any sharp edges or other unclean processing at any point. Even the gaps are very small.

With regard to the smell, I was worried at first. The Ekrin B37, for example, smells very chemically of rubber, which is due to the rubber handle. With the Ekrin 365, however, the smell is barely perceptible or only at close range on the handle. That’s how it should be!

Price Performance

I myself purchased the Ekrin 365 at the price of $179.99. This is also its normal price, which can be found on the manufacturer’s website. With a coupon (e.g., MGG20) it could be lowered. So at the time of this review, the Ekrin 365 would have cost only $143.98.

All in all, the massage gun is not particularly cheap. Neither is it one of the more expensive massagers I have tested so far. Therefore, considering the performance in the other categories, I would rate the price-performance ratio as “Good” to “Very Good”.

Conclusion – Ekrin 365 Review

Summary

The Ekrin 365 is the brand’s entry-level model. Nevertheless, it does not have to hide behind Ekrin’s top devices. In any case, I can fully recommend the 365! Why? It is available at a fair price and has only a few weaknesses. These include, for example, that it is a bit noisy.

On the other hand, it is very easy to use, provides a powerful massage and makes a more than high-quality impression. It also feels good in the hand. And with the long handle, you can even reach distant parts of the body for self-massage.
